1983  Daley, Francis Stanley (Frank)   Joined General Motors-Holden’s in 1931 as senior staff engineer, responsible for modernising the company’s plant at Woodville, South Australia, to prepare for the manufacture of steel bodies for motor vehicles. The company began fitting Australian-produced all-steel bodies to GM chassis in 1937. Next year Daley’s paper `Beyond the Yield Point’ described original research into the pressing of sheet steel in October 1942). Author of a History Of GM Holdens. WWW
c1980  Silins, Edvins Ed Silins was born in Latvia, but came to Australia and was the Lead Engineer in the design of the Holden V8 engine. PDF
2007  James, Frederick George  Fred James worked on the first Holden, then later was the Engineer in Charge of the design of the Holden V8 engine. PDF

Rawnsley, William John 'Jack'

 2022  John Leigh  Joined as cadet Engineer in 1957, went to GMI, returned to Frigidaire as Manager of Quality in many plants here and overseas. When Frigidaire relocated to New Zealand, John became Senior Quality Engineer for VAP's. 2023  Steve Markwell Steve Markwell, whose automotive career spanned nearly five decades across senior positions at GM-Holden, Nissan Australia, Lada Cars, The Australian newspaper, as well as Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) in Queensland, has died. PDF
2024  David (Dave) Birrell David (Dave) Birrell joined Holden in 1955 as a cadet engineer in Product Engineering at Fishermens Bend and served in various supervisory roles in Engineering. He retired on 31st March 1999 after 44.2 years of continuous and distinguished service with Holden.  PDF
2024  Rick Hooper Rick Started at Holden 1977, when drafting was largely a manual affair. He moved overseas and was in the front line of the introduction of CAD systems at Holden and around the Automotive industry. PDF
2025   Hugh Harry Videon

In December 2024, Tony Hyde had a call from Hugh Videion, who asked Tony if he would read Hugh’s obituary at his funeral. Although somewhat taken aback by the unexpected request, Tony agreed and on 19 June 2025, fulfilled his promise to his old mate. This is Hugh’s story as he wrote it.
